About Joseph

Joseph Curran, founding partner of Curran, Berger & Kludt LLP,  has been exclusively involved in the practice of immigration and nationality law since 1985. He has served as counsel to numerous individuals, major corporations, elite universities, health care facilities, and research institutions, specializing in immigration issues impacting health care and other businesses, primarily in the New England area.

He frequently lectures on immigration law to lawyers, business groups, hospitals, and academic institutions throughout the U.S., including leading the panel on physician immigration for the AILA national conference.

Joseph has extensive experience with Conrad waivers, extenuating-circumstance H-1B transfers, Physician National Interest Waivers, and strategic visa planning for International Medical Graduates and physicians’ spouses.

As a member of the IMG Taskforce Advocacy Committee, Attorney Curran collaborates with U.S. Representatives, Senators and regulatory administrators regarding legislative and regulatory policy, working to address the needs of international medical graduates and other international health care workers.  Mr. Curran also edited the “Nurse Immigration Book,” the comprehensive authority on nurse immigration.

When he has time, Joseph volunteers in the immigration assistance programs of charitable organizations in his community.
