Family- and Humanitarian-Based Immigration

Over 75% of immigration to the U.S. is driven by family unification or humanitarian need. We work with spouses, children, parents, grandparents and brothers and sisters when they file permanent resident applications for their family members. We have a special focus on helping children and advising on international adoption issues, humanitarian parole, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Attorney Dan Berger is the editor-in-chief of AILA’s International Adoption Sourcebook.

We represent clients from around the world in applications for Political Asylum, especially domestic violence victims from Central America and those fleeing religious extremists in the Middle East. We work with victims of crimes in the U.S. who are eligible for the U visa program or status under the Violence Against Women Act.

We have a near 100% success rate in filing humanitarian waivers of inadmissibility based on hardship to family members. We take the time to get to know our clients’ unique circumstances to make a compelling case to the Immigration Service or the Immigration Judge.

We also assist clients facing criminal bars to admissibility, deportation and detention.
