On April 1st, 2019, Attorney Dan Berger attended the 1st Annual Meeting of the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, a coalition of over 400 college and university presidents in the U.S. He is part of the Legal Advisory Board. The meeting involved discussions of how to support international, DACA and undocumented students and scholars on campuses, and how to advocate at the state and federal level on laws and policy. The advisory board will meet regularly to help support the Alliance’s steering committee.
On April 2nd, 2019, Attorney Berger represented the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys in a meeting with the immigration counsel for Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee discussing immigration polices related to children, including humanitarian parole for children in crisis. He is going back to Capitol Hill on May 2 for meetings with staffers from the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs and also the Foreign Relations Committee.
