In an article at Forbes.com, where Stuart Anderson addresses the differences between the previous administration and Biden’s plans connected to welcoming immigrants in STEM fields:

“O-1 visas had become more difficult to obtain,” he said in an interview. “New guidance is helpful to clarify how the statutory criteria apply to STEM fields and the modern world. Many of the criteria were written before the internet age.”

Further, Attorney Berger expands on the DHS plan to increase the number of international students who will be eligilbe for STEM OPT:
